The Welcome Area should function both as a warm, inviting place for all visitors of the building as well as a security checkpoint. The building architecture and landscape should direct visitors to the community entrance with signage from parking to community entrance. A distinct signature element in a highly visible location will help give each school its identity and reflect the ethos of the community.
The message to all students is "this space was made for you, it belongs to you and you are valued."
Is there a place to sit outside near the entrance to support parents who have other children in tow?
