At the early and special education levels, dispersed Point of Service (POS) kiosks provide meals to support a smaller, more intimate environment for learners to gather, eat, socialize, and learn.
The proximity to the Small Learning Communities gives learners more time for the social emotional learning aspects of dining and play time in lieu of traveling to a centralized location and waiting in long lines.
Outside of lunch and breakfast times, the space is then available for a multitude of learning activities such as art or robotics.
At the upper grade levels, Point of Service Kiosks and Outdoor Dining empower learners to build stronger relationships with their peers by eating within their Small Learning Community. If desired, locate Kiosks and Outdoor Dining conveniently between one to three Small Learning Communities. Consider food transfer from central kitchen to dispersed kiosks.
