SCUSD is moving in the direction of having fewer Special Day Classes (SDC's), and more Learning Centers, to serve as a hub of a school. The general education classroom or SDC will serve as home base to allow students to float in and out of the Learning Center as needed, throughout the day.
Are there spaces to support small group collaboration?
Do spaces have views of nature to contribute to the right atmosphere for learning?
Placing Special Day Classes within the Small Learning Communities, and bringing resource specialists into Learning Studios, Huddle Rooms and Indoor Learning Commons, promotes the maximum possible interaction between students across the special needs continuum.
